Frequently Asked Questions

What teams do you run?

SENIORS – We run five senior sides: four Saturday sides that compete in the I’Anson League in Surrey and Hampshire and one friendly side on a Sunday. We also enter numerous cup competitions, including the National Village Cup.

YOUTH – We enter teams into local leagues from Under 8s to Under 19s. However, we also run ‘just for fun’ cricket coaching from the Under 5 age group. Our youth setup encourages children of all ages and abilities and we have a strong track record of developing our own talent. Both the current 1st XI and 2nd XI captains grew up playing cricket at Frensham from an early age.

What facilities do you have?

PITCHES – We’re lucky enough to enjoy some of the best village cricket facilities in the area. We have two cricket squares on site at the Hollowdene Recreation Ground in Frensham, Farnham. This allows us to host two of our four teams at home every weekend, whereas many other clubs have satellite grounds. This helps maintain a great, social atmosphere at the club.

PRACTICE NETS – We have an outstanding three-lane facility built in 2010. They use professional grade synthetic surfaces and there’s a bowling machine available for batting practice.

PAVILION & SPECTATING – We have changing and showering facilities for four teams, a well-stocked club bar and serving area for teas in the pavilion. We’ve recently renovated the pavilion indoors and outdoors to modernise and add new viewing areas. The main square forms an amphitheatre, resulting in superior viewing positions from which to watch the cricket.

Can I book your ground for a function?

We can host social and charity games, albeit with limited availability to fit around club activities. Please go to the Contact Us page and use the form to detail your requirements. We regret that we cannot rent out the pavilion itself for functions (e.g. birthdays), although it can be used in conjunction with a cricketing event.

I’m a professional player seeking a ‘pay to play’ contract – are you interested?

Unfortunately, no. The I’Anson League prohibits the use of professional ‘pay to play’ players. You’re welcome to join the club as an amateur but you’ll have to pay subs and match fees
