Notice that this Sunday (8 April) is the final net session at Edgeborough school. If you haven’t been able to make it along thus far, this is you last chance. We start at 4pm

Ground Work Party – 10am, 1st April – Volunteers Needed

To help get the club ready for the season, we need some volunteers to help out for a work party. The main job will be putting the nets back up, though there may be one or two other things to do as well.

When: 10am, Sunday 1st April at 10am
Where: Hollowdene Rec

Provided a decent number make the effort, it should only be 2 hours work. Coco has promised a bacon butty for those turn up.

Pre-Season Social and Practice Matches on 14th, 15th April

We’ll be running two practice matches again this year, one for the 3rd and 4th XIs and one for the 1st & 2nd XIs. These will take place back-to-back, with the 3rd and 4th XIs playing on Saturday, 14th April and the 1st and 2nd XIs on Sunday, 15th April.

Saturday evening will also be the official pre-season social evening, the bar will be open and we’ll be running a barbecue as well. Details below:

Proposed Pavilion Development Plans

Before viewing this draft, please keep the following in mind:

This is only a draft - After further consultation changes have already been discussed. For example, the ‘poseur tables’ in the plans (just in front the main entrance to the pavilion) have been scrapped. The committee deemed it better kept as an area to stand in.
Philosophy of the plans - In drawing up the plans the committee stipulated that ‘improving the cricket viewing experience’ should be the key focus. Consequently the amount of internal changes are relatively minor, with most of the work concerning the outside. The idea is to create three tiers of viewing experience – one at bottom where people sit (including extending patio area at the front), decent seating at the front the patio, and then space for people to stand behind.
Ladies bathroom - In moving the ladies bathroom upstairs, it’s actually returning to its old site. To accommodate it the current freestanding fridge in the kitchen would be removed and replaced with one or two units in the area below the main serving area. This will make the space in the kitchen more effective. To replace the lost storage space, a new cupboard in the main club room would be created for storing plates and other items.
Picnic tables - We’ve already decided the tables at the front of the patio will be picnic tables. Not only are these cheap, they wouldn’t add to our already onerous storage issues and can be secured to avoid (or at least discourage) theft.
